Monsoon claims and the prior-season baseline
Bangkok risk floors feel monsoon pressure every year, yet many briefs still compare this August to last July because someone shifted the extract window. Prior-season baselines need locked start and end dates before the rains begin.
We tag flood, storm, and related weather cause codes in advance with the claims team. Ambiguous water damage stays in a separate bucket until coding is confirmed—otherwise the spike chart becomes an argument about labels.
Large commercial property losses often report late. A mid-season refresh should highlight newly reported prior-period events instead of rewriting the opening brief as if they had always been known.
Leadership does not need a weather forecast. They need claim counts, severity bands, and a short note on which provinces or portfolios are carrying the season.
