Field notes
Open claims aging that risk briefs can actually use
Open inventory charts fail risk meetings when every claim older than ninety days looks identical. A litigated liability file and a waiting police report are not the same problem.
We ask risk leads for their internal review gates—thirty, sixty, ninety, one hundred eighty days—and mark which gates trigger a claims supervisor check. The aging chart then mirrors those gates instead of inventing new ones.
Reserve movement sits beside age. An old claim with a flat reserve may be waiting on paperwork; an old claim with rising reserves needs a different sentence in the briefing pack.
Keep the first aging view to one line of business. Mixing property and motor on the same age axis hides where the stalls really live.
